It’s the season for pomp and circumstance as area schools prepare for graduation.
For some, it is hard to believe that the school year is almost complete. Boonville R-1 School District Superintendent Dr. Mark Ficken said at the last school board meeting that for him it seems the school year just began. Many individuals share this sentiment as well. Yet, for each senior class, graduation cannot seem to get here fast enough.
Local school districts will begin graduating their senior classes within the next couple weeks.
The Boonville R-1 School District will graduate its seniors at 2 p.m on May 22 at Windsor Gymnasium.
A week before Boonville lets its seniors depart, Bunceton R-IV will hold its commencement at 2 pm. on May 15 in its gymnasium.
Pilot Grove will also send off its seniors on May 15 in the high school gym. That commencement will also be at 2 p.m.
Prairie Home plans to say farewell to their seniors at 2 p.m. on May 15. This ceremony will take place in its gymnasium.
New Franklin will also be holding its graduation on May 15 at 2 p.m. Being the second largest school in this list, it will have the second highest number of graduates outside of Boonville.
For individuals who have friends or family in schools outside of Boonville, it will be difficult to see each graduation.
