Linda Mae Schlotzhauer

Linda Mae Schlotzhauer, 78, of Pilot Grove passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022, at her son’s home in Pilot Grove, surrounded by her family.

She was born January 28, 1 9 4 4, in Boo nville, daughter of Oliver L. and Ethel M. (Rugen) Retherford.

On June 18, 1971, in California, she married Charles Lee Schlotzhauer, who preceded her in death on November 12, 2009.

Linda worked as a dispatcher for Toastmaster for many years and retired from Caterpillar. She served on the board of directors for Katy Manor when they built the facility.

Linda enjoyed horseback riding, gardening and spending time at the lake on their houseboat. She always enjoyed a good visit. Linda loved her family and cooked many Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners over the years. She was notorious for her Thanksgiving dressing. You always knew where she stood, but she was very kind and compassionate, always had a desire to help others, and never met a stranger.

Surviving are three sons, Rick Moore (Melanie) of Pilot Grove, Jim Moore of Speed, and Mitch Moore (companion, Patricia Young) of Pilot Grove; stepchildren, Patty Stock (Richard) of Boonville, Greg Schlotzhauer of Laurie, and Pam Davis (Terry) of Jacksonville, FL; her sister, Barbara Twenter of Pilot Grove; 13 grandchildren, Aaron, Sarah, Sasha, Kendal, Dakota, Jordan, Cody, Kim, Kyle, Carrie, Patrick, Bethany and Jenna; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Brenda Moore; stepson, Bruce Schlotzhauer; and grandson, Skylar Moore.

The family received friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Pilot Grove, where the funeral service began at 11 a.m. Thursday.

Casket bearers were Rick Moore, Jim Moore, Mitch Moore, Greg Schlotzhauer, Danny Twenter and Brian Twenter. Honorary bearers were her grandchildren.

Burial was in Pilot Grove Cemetery.
