Callista Hathman, a sophomore at Boonville High School, has been named Artist of the Month. Boonville High School Art Teacher Dionne Murphy said Hathman used a combination of photos to create her image. “Dionne combined a picture of Saturn and a picture from the poster of the video game “The Outer Worlds”,” Murphy said. “Her fine cross-hatching details make this a standout piece.” Murphy said last month Art II created scratch art. She said scratch art is made using a scratch board that is coated in black ink. The artist then used a sharp tool to scratch away at the surface to create different values.
