New Franklin senior Kelsi Fair recently signed a letter of intent to compete in track and field at Columbia College. While competing in three events for the Lady Bulldogs, New Franklin track coach Adam Quest said Fair currently has a personal record of 33’-3.5 in the shot put, 77’-3” in the discus and 71’-6” in the javelin. In three seasons, Fair also claimed one conference title, one district championship and finished 11th at state as a sophomore. “Over the years, Kelsi has grown into a wonderful shot putter,” Quest said. “She is a fierce competitor and has a true desire to succeed. Despite not having a proper throwing coach, she has been able to find some success in her high school career. I’m sure with a more qualified coach, she will advance even farther at the collegiate level.” Attending the signing were (front row, left to right) KeBrea Fair, Kelsi Fair and LaShandra Fair.
