Our beloved sister Deborah Dean Abney (Robertson) has left us to be with her father. Born on September 15, 1956 to Harold Dean Robertson (deceased) and Joy Ann Robertson. She was a college professor for Rock Valley College in Rockford, IL before her recent retirement in June 2021.

Debby loved water sports, camping, and softball as a kid. As she grew older, she found great satisfaction in curling up with a good book. She obtained a Master’s degree from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, and she found her calling as a teacher of literature. She loved to travel, and she enjoyed planning her trips to the English countryside. She will always be remembered for her warm and generous spirit.

She is preceded in death by her father Harold Dean Robertson. She is survived by her mother Joy Ann Robertson, two sisters Victoria Gaus, Patricia Ray, brother Brad Robertson, and her son Ben Abney, his fiancé Sarah and her daughter Amelia.
