The CM Rockets defeated Mexico 11-2, SOMO Liberty 23-1, Huntsville 8-0 and Houston 3-2 to win the title. In the game against the Mexico Rangers, CM Rockets manager Beau Giffen said the team got dominating hitting from Easton Gerding and a good rundown catch from Seth Giffen. Meanwhile, in the second game against SOMO Liberty, Giffen said the team had lights out hitting and pitching. Then, in bracket play against the Huntsville Hornets, Giffen said the CM Rockets turned three double plays. In the championship game, Giffen said Houston had a “stud” pitcher who threw 74 miles per hour but his team somehow managed to put three runs on the board. "Gerding's bat found a hole late to drive in a run as well as Izer Scott, who hit awesome all weekend," Giffen said. "Seth Giffen tracked a potential game changer in right to get us back up to the fifth inning, where we put three runs up since we trailed by one heading into the fifth." The CM Rockets are a blended squad of Cooper, Pettis and Saline County players and will play this next season in a few tournaments along with a few players from KC Siege.Giffen also commented that Samuel Moenkoff and Korben Dierking pitched solid all weekend. He said the highlight for him was taking home gold and the catcher doing Ozzie Smith flips to celebrate.
