Evelyn M. Laxson, 84, of Marshall, MO, died Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at The Arbors at Westport Estates in Marshall. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Chapel Cemetery in rural Saline County. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to The Arbors at Westport Estates, Fitzgibbon Home Health and Hospice, Community Cancer Center or Alzheimer’s Association. On August 16, 1959, she married Donald Gene Laxson who preceded her in death on February 3, 2015. Evelyn lived in Saline County most of her life working at Blosser Home for Women many years ago, was then a housekeeper, and then spent many years as in home care giver for individuals. Evelyn had a special talent in helping others and caring for them. She enjoyed taking care of her flowers and plants, earning the Master Gardener designation from the University of Missouri Extension, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
