The Boonville boys freshmen basketball team featured a balanced scoring attack in its home opener Monday night while leading Marshall from start to finish for a 42-30 victory. The Pirates, 2-3 on the season, opened the game with eight straight points against Marshall and led 9-6 after one.
The LSE girls seventh and eighth grade basketball teams won a pair of games Monday night at home by beating the Versailles Tigers 36-15 and 51-17, respectively. In the seventh grade game, the Lady Pirates opened the game with a 18-4 lead after one against Versailles and then outscored the Tigers 8-0 in the second period to lead at the half 26-4.
The Pilot Grove Lady Tigers basketball team had another moment Tuesday night on the road against the Glasgow Yellowjackets. After capturing the championship in the Pilot Grove Tiger Classic last weekend, the Lady Tigers went on the road Tuesday night for their first conference game of the season and came away with a 66-50 win.

In the seventh grade game, the Pirates opened the game by outscoring Versailles 20-2 in the first-two quarters and then held a 18-5 scoring edge in the second half to win the game by 31.
The Boonville Lady Pirates basketball team captured the championship in the Centralia Invitational Tournament Friday night by beating the Macon Tigers in a battle of two state-ranked teams 58-49. The Lady Pirates, improving to 5-1 on the season, dominated the Lady Tigers from the opening tip and led by as much as 16 in the second quarter.
The LSE Pirates wrestling team closed out the 2021 season Saturday in the Carrollton Tournament against a field of 11 teams. LSE Pirates wrestling coach Christian Stock said the team finished out the season really well.
