The New Franklin boys basketball team continued its winning ways Thursday night in the W-K Shootout at State Fair Community College in Sedalia by beating Tuscumbia 83-27. The Bulldogs, 7-2 on the season, opened the game with a 38-4 lead in the first quarter against Tuscumbia and then outscored the Lions 21-4 in the second period to go into the half on top 59-8.
The LSE boys seventh and eighth grade basketball teams closed out the 2021 season on a positive note Thursday night at home against the Fayette Falcons, winning by the scores of 45-11 and 35-17, respectively.
The Pilot Grove girls basketball team notched its sixth straight win by beating the Sturgeon Bulldogs 62-36 in CAC action Thursday night in Pilot Grove. The Lady Tigers, 6-0 overall and 2-0 in the CAC, jumped out to a 35-11 halftime lead against Sturgeon and then outscored the Bulldogs 27-25 in the second half.
The LSE girls seventh and eighth grade basketball teams closed out the season on a winning note Thursday night in Fayette by beating the Lady Falcons by the scores of 33-23 and 34-23, respectively. In the seventh grade game, LSE led Fayette 12-11 at the half and then outscored the Falcons 21-12 in the second half for the win.
The LSE boys eighth grade basketball team outscored Marshall 24-6 in the first two quarters and never looked back, beating the Owls Wednesday night in Boonville 45-12. The Pirates, 8-6 overall, outscored Marshall in three of the four quarters and led 12-4 after one, 24-6 at the half and 41-8 after three.

The LSE girls seventh and eighth grade basketball teams won a pair of games on the road Wednesday night by beating the Marshall Owls 29-16 and 25- 17, respectively. In the seventh grade game, LSE outscored Marshall in three quarters and led 15-3 at the half and 21-8 after three quarters of play.
