Lady Pirates dominate in first W-K Challenge, Brownfield breaks scoring record

Boonville senior Addi Brownfield receives a plaque from former Boonville player Morgan Edwards after breaking the scoring record Tuesday night against Sedalia Smith-Cotton at the Windsor gymnasium. Brownfield needed only 20 points to break Edwards all-time scoring record of 1,602 points. With 28 points in the game, Brownfield now has 1,611 points in her career. (Photo by Chris Bowie)

Retwriting the history books

The Boonville Lady Pirates basketball team had plenty of reasons for wanting to win Tuesday night’s game against Smith-Cotton. First, the Lady Pirates wanted to win the game to get the bad taste out of their mouth from last Friday’s loss against the Hallsville Indians.

Donahue, Dell, and Hahn are bright spots in disappointing night for Boonville wrestlers

The Boonville Pirates wrestling team had what head coach Justin Hahn called a rough day at the office Tuesday night while facing Moberly and Palmyra in a triangular meet in Moberly. After dropping a 48-24 decision in the first dual against Palmyra, the Pirates had an even tougher time in the next match against Moberly while losing 72-12.
