The Boonville boys and girls wrestling teams competed in its final tournament of the regular season Saturday in Buffalo. With the girl’s district tournament starting up Saturday in Wentzville and the boys the following week in Mexico, head coach Justin Hahn said he thought this was a good tournament and a prep for districts.
The Pilot Grove girls basketball team battled Glasgow point for point through three quarters before pulling away in the final period for a 50-38 win Saturday in the third place game in the Wildcat Classic in Slater.

The Pilot Grove boys’ basketball team battled for 40 minutes Friday night in the consolation game against Carrollton in the Wildcat Classic in Slater. After trailing by five at the break and four after three quarters of play, the Tigers rallied back in the final period to tie the game at 36-all.
The New Franklin girls’ basketball team can look at several reasons for Saturday’s 52-41 loss against South Callaway in the third-place game in the Sturgeon Tournament. Along with a slow start in the game, the Lady Bulldogs also struggled from the foul line by hitting only 9 of 22 shots for 41 percent.
The New Franklin boys basketball team played about as well as a team could play in the second half Saturday in the third place game against South Callaway in the Sturgeon. The Bulldogs also had a good first quarter while trailing South Callaway by just two.
