The New Franklin boys’ and girls’ basketball teams led Jamestown at the end of each quarter Tuesday night to pick up the sweep. The Lady Bulldogs defeated Jamestown 52-40 while the New Franklin boys prevailed by a score of 59-33.
Two teams looking for a bright spot in the season squared off Monday night in Bunceton. Although both teams are rebuilding for the future, the Bunceton with Prairie Home girls’ basketball team wanted nothing more to win its third game of the season against Montrose.

Boonville Pirates wrestling coach Justin Hahn said after Thursday night’s triangular against Lexington and MMA that he wasn’t happy, but he wasn’t unhappy, either. With the number of forfeits by every team, Hahn realized that it might by tough for the Pirates to come away with two wins let alone one win.
The Boonville Pirates basketball team played well for 24 of the 32 minutes Friday night on the road against the Columbia Hickman Kewpies. However, it was the other eight minutes that doomed the Pirates in a 74-48 loss.
The Boonville girls’ basketball team did everything they could to get back in the game Thursday night on the road against the Fatima Comets. Although Fatima never really pulled away from Boonville while leading by just five at the half and at the end of the third quarter, head coach Jaryt Hunziker said it seemed like a carbon copy of the Skyline game from this past Saturday.
