The Boonville boys’ and girls’ basketball teams recently had three players selected to the Class 4 District 9 All-District Team for the 2021-22 season. Although both the Pirates and Lady Pirates fell in the opening round-the girls losing to Blair Oaks and the boys falling to Fatima-the three players still were good enough to be selected by area coaches to the all-district team.
The Cal Ripken League will hold tryouts for all leagues on Saturday, March 12 at the Cooper County Baseball Association (COCOBA) ball field. Midget League will start the tryouts at 10 a.m., followed by Minor at 1 p.m.
Boonville Babe Ruth Rookie and Junior Babe Ruth signups will be held on March 12-13 at Twillman field in Harley Park. On Saturday, March 12, signups will be held from 9 a.m.

The Boonville Pirates and Lady Pirates wrestling teams recently had five members selected to the Tri-County All-Conference Team for the 2021-22 season. The Pirates closed out the season at 6-10 overall and 3-4 in the TCC, while the Lady Pirates finished 6-4-1 overall and 4-2 in the conference.
