The 38th annual Show-Me State Games are right around the corner, and they will be kicked off with the Opening Ceremony. This year’s Opening Ceremony will be held at 7 p.m.

Trout, Ohtani, Betts, Turner to start All-Star Game in LA
Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Angels were elected Friday to start in the July 19 All-Star Game along with Mookie Betts and Trea Turner of the host Dodgers. Toronto catcher Alejandro Kirk and Miami second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr.

Boonville 12 All-Stars to play opening game in Cal Ripken State Tournament
The Boonville 12-year-old All-Stars will be the host team for the Cal Ripken 12-year-old State Tournament on July 8-10. Five teams will make up the tournament along with Boonville, which includes MABA #2 (Redhawks), Carthage, MABA #1 (American) and SEMO Storm.
Meinhold tabbed Mizzou pitching coach
COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri baseball head coach Steve Bieser has selected Ricky Meinhold, a Missouri native and former staff member in the St. Louis Cardinals and New York Mets organizations, as the Tigers’ pitching coach. Meinhold has spent the past season as the Director of Pitching for the Lotte Giants of the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO).

The expansion to 16 teams will happen after the Pac-12’s current media rights contracts with Fox and ESPN expire and make the Big Ten the first conference to stretch from the Atlantic to the Pacific.

Boonville 10 All-Stars to begin play in state tournament on July 8
The Boonville 10-year-old All-Stars will play in a five team state tournament on July 8-10 in Bonne Terre. Teams competing in the state tournament along with Boonville are Mineral Area National, Sikeston, Carthage and Mineral Area American.
