Lady Tigers fall in home opener against St. Elizabeth, 11-4

The Pilot Grove Lady Tigers softball team’s first extra inning game of the season was a success Monday night on the road against the Brunswick Wildcats. While battling Brunswick back and forth for seven innings, the Lady Tigers put together their best inning of the game by plating three runs in the top half of the eighth to beat Brunswick 6-3.
The Boonville Lady Pirates softball team did everything right up until the fifth inning Tuesday night on the road against the Columbia Hickman Kewpies. While leading the Kewpies after the first-three innings 6-2, the Lady Pirates needed just four more innings to pull off the upset against Hickman.
One day after beating the Marshall Owls by 58 strokes, the Boonville girls golf team may have recorded its most impressive win in the history of the program by setting a school record for the lowest score Tuesday against Southern Boone at Hail Ridge Golf Course in Boonville.
The Boonville boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams kicked off the 2022 season Tuesday in the Salisbury Invitational. While competing against teams from the area, Boonville head coach Melissa Baker said it was good to get their first race under their belt.
The Boonville Lady Pirates volleyball team didn’t get the results they were looking for Tuesday night in the season opener against Southern Boone at the Windsor gymnasium. Although the Lady Pirates fell in three straight games against SBC 17-25, 31-33 and 16-25, head coach Brittney Lowe said the girls know now they have things they can work on and need to do better on in order to perform against California on Thursday at home.
Boonville Lady Pirates tennis coach Melissa Harvey said the girls really put in their best effort and had great attitudes on and off the court Monday night in a 7-2 loss against the Mexico Lady Bulldogs.
Boonville boys’ soccer coach Alec Adair said the Pirates “gutted” one out Tuesday night in the season opener against the Clinton Cardinals. While closing out the 2021 season at 0-13 overall, Adair admitted that Clinton was going to be a tough opponent- especially on the road.
The Boonville Lady Pirates tennis team had what head coach Melissa Harvey call a “feel good” moment Wednesday night in its home opener against the Carrollton Trojans. After dropping its season opener Monday on the road against Mexico, the Lady Pirates came back Wednesday night to beat Carrollton 6-3.
The New Franklin baseball team picked up its third straight win by beating the New Bloomfield Wildcats 7-0 in the home opener on Tuesday. The Bulldogs, 3-0 on the season, scored in every inning but two against New Bloomfield and put up two runs in the second, three again in the third and one in each of the fifth and sixth innings of play.
