Boonville volleyball coach Brittney Lowe used the term “team” to describe the Lady Pirates three-set win Tuesday night on the road against the Centralia Panthers 25-13, 25-18 and 27-25. Although the Lady Pirates still have some catching up to do after dropping their first-two games of the season, Lowe said she was proud with how the girls played against Centralia.

The New Franklin Lady Bulldogs softball team showed no quit Tuesday night at home against the Cairo Bearcats. Although the Bearcats opened the game with one run in the top half of the first, it was all New Franklin after that with nine unanswered runs over the next six innings for a 9-1 victory.
The Boonville Pirates soccer team couldn’t have asked for a better half Thursday night in Tri-County Conference action against the Southern Boone Eagles at the Boonville City Soccer Fields. Although the Eagles led 1-0 after the first 40 minutes of the game on a goal at the 22 minute mark, the Pirates had to feel like they were still in the match.

The Boonville Lady Pirates tennis team had a tough night on Thursday while hosting School of the Osage in the third match in four days. After winning its first match of the season the night before against Carrollton 6-3, the Lady Pirates appeared to have had nothing left Thursday at home against Osage while losing by a score of 7-2.
It’s no surprise that the Boonville Lady Pirates softball team had nothing left in the tank Thursday night on the road against the Hallsville Indians. After all, the Lady Pirates were playing their sixth game in six days-third in a row-after going 3-0 in the Lady Pirate Lead Off Classic last Saturday and then games against Hickman, Southern Boone and Hallsville in as many days.
