The Pilot Grove Lady Tigers softball team scored the game’s only run in the bottom half of the fourth to beat Jamestown 1-0 Thursday night in Pilot Grove. The Lady Tigers, 6-5 on the season and winners of two straight, also got a complete- game victory from senior Marci Lammers.
“Good teams find a way to win ball games,” said Boonville Pirates football coach Greg Hough on Friday night’s 18-14 win over Southern Boone at Gene Reagan Field. After last week’s thrilling win in overtime against Hallsville 59-58, the Pirates have now won three straight since their season opener against state-ranked Pleasant Hill to improve to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the Tri-County Conference.
The Boonville Lady Pirates golf team had another great day on Friday while competing in the Versailles Tournament at Versailles Country Club. One day after setting a school record in the Osage Quad, the Lady Pirates came back to grab first place in the Versailles Tournament by beating second place finisher, Capital City, by 31 strokes 343-374.

The Boonville boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams competed in the Fulton Cross-Country Invite over the weekend. While competing against 142 runners in the boy’s division and 128 runners in the girl’s division, Boonville assistant coach Becky Eckerle said Fulton meet is always one that the boys and girls enjoy going to.
The Boonville Lady Pirates softball team knew they would have to play error-free to beat the stateranked Blair Oaks Falcons Thursday night in Tri-County Conference action at Bill Simmons Field at Rolling Hills Park.
The Boonville Pirates soccer team had a respectable finish to the weekend in the Boonville Soccer Shootout at the Boonville City Soccer Fields. After falling Friday night against a good Father Tolton team 2-0, Boonville came back to beat Southern Boone’s JV on Saturday 3-0 to finish the tournament at 1-1 overall.
Boonville No. 1 singles player Emma Neidig cruised through her three matches to capture first Saturday in the Osage Tournament.
