The Boonville Pirates soccer team knew they had a chance while trailing 1-0 at the half Thursday night against Oak Grove. While defending for most of the game, according to head coach Alec Adair, the Pirates had 40 minutes to tie the game and take the lead or risk the possibility of coming home with another loss.

The Bunceton with Prairie Home boys and girls middle school basketball teams picked up a pair of wins Thursday night on the road by beating Pilot Grove by the scores of 39-25 and 44-25, respectively. In the girl’s game, the Lady Dragons led Pilot Grove 29-15 at the half and then outscored the Tigers 15-10 in the second half.
The Boonville Lady Pirates softball team didn’t have quite the outcome they were looking for over the weekend while competing in the Carthage Tournament on Friday and Saturday. But considering the teams the Lady Pirates went up against such as Carthage, Ozark, Jefferson City and Mc-Donald County, Boonville head coach Christie Zoeller said the girls will take the lessons they learned and use them to make the team better as they roll into districts.

To say that Friday night’s game against Osage had huge ramifications would be a major understatement for the Boonville Pirates football team. Win the game and more than likely the Pirates take over first place in the Class 3 District 5 standings with two games left to play.
