The Boonville boys ninth grade basketball team may have played its best game to date Monday night while hosting the Odessa Bulldogs at the Windsor gymnasium. Although the Pirates got off to a slow start in the first 2 ½ minutes of the game, they more than made up for it while scoring a season-high 69 points to beat the Bulldogs 69-24.
The New Franklin boys’ and girls’ basketball team continued its winning ways Tuesday night at home against the Slater Wildcats in CAC action. While both teams improved to 7-1 on the season and 2-0 in the CAC, the Lady Bulldogs wound up beating Slater 47-31 while the New Franklin boys prevailed against the Wildcats 86-49.
The Pilot Grove girls basketball team kept its unbeaten record intact Tuesday night in a CAC clash against Glasgow by thwarting a second quarter rally by the Lady Yellowjackets for a 64-53 win in Pilot Grove.
The BPH girls basketball team picked up its fourth win of the season in seven games by beating Windsor Tuesday night in Bunceton 54-35. BPH never trailed in the game against Windsor and led 18-10 after one period of play, 34-19 at the half and 45-25 after three.
The LSE boys seventh grade basketball team improved to 10-0 on the season by turning back Marshall 52-42 Wednesday night in Marshall. The Pirates led Marshall in all four quarters and took a 29-18 lead into the half.
The LSE girls eighth grade basketball outscored Marshall 8-1 in the opening period and never looked back for a 27-21 win Wednesday night in Boonville. The LSE girls seventh grade basketball team was also victorious against the Lady Owls 27-6.
