New Franklin picks up win No. 20 and sixth straight in CAC against Cairo Lady Bulldogs let one slip away against Bearcats, 57-45

The New Franklin boys’ basketball team moved one step closer to winning the league title Friday night after beating a red-hot Cairo squad in Cairo 74-66. The Bulldogs, 20-2 overall and 6-0 in the Central Activities Conference, trailed Cairo 16-14 after one and 35-30 at the half before rallying with a 20-16 advantage in the third quarter to cut the lead to one at 51-50.

Boonville Pirates Athletics Department to host golf tournament on June 24

The Boonville Pirates Athletics Department will host the First Annual Golf Tournament on Monday, June 26 at Hail Ridge Golf Course in Boonville. While this tournament is continuing the Pirate tradition of the Gene Reagan Tournament, Boonville Athletic Director Gary Baker, organizer of the event, said golfers can either pay $100 per player or $300 per team.
