New Franklin wins C2 D7 title with 59-52 win over Salisbury

With coffee in hand from Scooters in Boonville, you knew it was going to be a good day for New Franklin freshman Lily Chitwood. While playing in perhaps the biggest game of her career against top-seeded Salisbury in the championship in the Class 2 District 7 Tournament at New Franklin High School, Chitwood knew the team had to win and what better way to get ready for the game than to enjoy a cup of coffee.

Saturday, March 11 At Blair Oaks Athletic Complex Order of games: (Starts at 10 a.m.) Blair Oaks vs. Owensville Boonville vs. Moberly Owensville vs. Moberly Blair Oaks vs. Boonville Boonville vs. Owensville Blair Oaks vs. Moberly Note: Each team will play 3 25 minute halves. Admission-gates open at 9:15 a.m., $3 adults, $2 students, senior citizens (62 and up) free.

Smith-Cotton High School Baseball Jamboree

Saturday, March 11 Liberty Park Stadium, Sedalia 11 a.m.-Smith-Cotton vs. Warsaw 12:45 p.m.-Boonville vs. Warsaw 2:15 p.m.-Smith-Cotton vs. Boonville Note: There will be a 90-minute time limit placed on each scrimmage. If four innings have not been played by the end of 90 minutes, the scrimmage will end regardless of the number of innings played or the number of at-bats by each team. If the time limit ends with a player at bat, the player will finish that at bat.
