Lady Pirates fall in C4 D9 semis against Pintos

After losing to the California Lady Pintos by 39 back on February 9, Boonville girls basketball coach Jared Runyon knew the only way to beat the host team in the semifinal round of the Class 4 District 9 Tournament Thursday night was to slow it down and keep the Lady Pintos from launching threes. Although California still took its share of threes with 21, Boonville accomplished its goal by holding the Lady Pintos to just five three-pointers during the game.

Four members of the Boonville Lady Pirates volleyball team were recently selected to the Missouri Volleyball Coaches Association (MHSVCA) Academic All-State Team for the 2022 season. In order to be selected to the academic all-state team, the volleyball players had to have a 3.6 cumulative GPA for their entire career, including the first semester of the 2022 season.

Boonville Babe Ruth Baseball Rookie and Junior Babe Ruth signups will be held on Saturday and Sunday, March 11-12 at Twillman field in Harley park. Signups on Saturday, March 11 will take place from 9 a.m.

Schuster siblings make first time showing at state memorable

Class 1 girls state wrestling and Class 2 boys state wrestling had several local people on the edge of their seats. Kevin Schuster, formally of Blackwater, and his wife Kari, living in Edgerton (North Kansas City) had two of their six kids participating at Mizzou Arena for the State Wrestling Tournament this year.

Hahn says 2022-23 season full of ups and downs

The 2022-23 season was a season of ups and downs for the Boonville Pirates wrestling team. While closing out the season for the boys at 7-81 overall and 1-1-1 in the TCC, the Boonville girls also had a successful year at 8-6-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the conference.
