After beating Osage 4-1 just 24 hours earlier at the Boonville High School Ball Field, the Boonville Pirates baseball team were back at it Wednesday in a non-conference game against the Linn Wildcats at Twillman Field in Harley Park. Except this game had a different feel compared to the previous game in which Boonville struggled to hit the ball against Osage.
New Franklin senior Kelsi Fair finished first in the shot put with a toss of 35’-3 ½” to lead the Lady Bulldogs in the Eaton Relays Thursday at Harrisburg. New Franklin track coach Adam Quest said the Harrisburg Eaton Relays was perhaps overall the best meet of the year so far.
The Pilot Grove baseball team exploded for 18 runs in the first inning and never looked back, beating the Madison Panthers Thursday night in CAC action at Madison 24-1 in three innings. The Tigers, 4-3 on the season, out-hit Madison 16-2 and led 18-0 after one and 20-0 after two before plating four more runs in the third inning to extend the lead to 24-0.
