In the words of New Franklin track coach Adam Quest, the boys 4 x 200 meter relay team turned out to be the highlight of the day while competing against a field of 26 other teams in the Westran Relays on Thursday in Huntsville.
The Boonville Lady Pirates soccer team finished the Moberly Lady Spartan Invitational at 1-1-1 by beating the Jefferson City Jays 2-0 and then tying the Mexico Bulldogs in the finale on Saturday at 0-0.

The Boonville boys’ and girls’ track teams couldn’t have asked for a better day to compete Friday in the annual Jack McCush Relays at the BHS Sports Complex. With the temperatures in the low 80s at the start of field events and dipping in the high 70s at the completion of the meet, Boonville girls track coach Melissa Baker said along with the beautiful weather the Lady Pirates also had several outstanding performances.
The New Franklin baseball team picked up its ninth win of the season in 13 ball games by beating Atlanta Friday night in New Franklin 6-1. While improving to 9-4 on the season, the Bulldogs also out-hit Atlanta 11-5 while holding the Hornets to just five hits in seven innings.
The Pilot Grove Tigers baseball team recorded its third straight shutout by beating the Slater Wildcats 15-0 in three innings Thursday night in Pilot Grove. While the win improved the Tigers record to 7-3 on the season, head coach Joe Vossler said he felt good about things with Adam Young on the mound.
