The Boonville Pirates baseball team had both the good and bad Saturday in tri-games against Holden and Eugene at Twillman Field in Harley Park. After winning the first of a two-game set against Holden on a walk off by Isaiah Hauptmann in the bottom of the seventh for a 4-3 victory, the Pirates struggled to hold on to the lead in the second game against Eugene while losing on a walk off in the ninth by the same identical score of 4-3.
The Boonville Pirates Boys’ Basketball Camp will be held on May 23-25 and May 30-June 1 at Boonville High School. The youth camp will be held from May 23-25 for kids in grades 4-6 from 1:30-2:45 p.m.
The Boonville Pirates C Baseball Team made the most of the opportunity after dropping its opening game in the Columbia C Team Tournament over the weekend. After losing to Jefferson City 10-5 in the opening round on Friday, the Pirates bounced back to win their next-two games by beating both Rolla and Capital City by the scores of 6-2 and 8-4, respectively, to win the consolation trophy in the tournament.

Two days after coming off their biggest win of the season against California Pintos 23-5, the Boonville Pirates baseball team was able to back it up with another impressive 8-0 win Thursday night at home against the Smith-Cotton Tigers.
The New Franklin boys’ and girls’ middle school track teams closed out its season Thursday in the Glasgow Relays. Although New Franklin had no first place finishes in the meet, they did finish with two second place finishers.
The Boonville Lady Pirates soccer team played the Smith-Cotton Lady Tigers close for 40 minutes on the pitch Thursday night at the Boonville City Soccer Fields. As for the final 40 minutes of the game, the Lady Pirates were no match for a much stronger and quicker Smith-Cotton squad while giving up five more goals to suffer an 8-0 loss.
The Boonville boys and girls track teams had its share of champions Thursday during the Tri-County Conference Track Meet at Osage High School. Although the Lady Pirates and Pirates finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the final team standings, they did have four champions-3 for the girls and 1 for the boys.
The New Franklin baseball team couldn’t have had a better send off for assistant coach Jim Triebsch Thursday night in the home finale against the Sweet Springs Greyhounds. While winning the game 15-0 in four innings for its eighth straight win and 17th in 22 ball games, the Bulldogs also honored Triebsch before the game with a framed jersey for his 28 years of teaching and 26 years involved with the baseball program.
