Boonville freshman Effie Morris and junior Ross Brackman will continue on with their season after placing in the top four in their respective events Saturday at the Class 3-4 Sectional Track Meet at Mexico High School. With the Class 3-5 Missouri State Track Championships scheduled on Friday and Saturday, May 26-27 at Adkins Stadium in Jefferson City, Morris will compete in two events after placing second in both the 100 meter hurdles and 300 meter intermediate hurdles.
In Midget League action Thursday night at the COCOBA Field at Harley Park, Midwest Autoworx defeated WK Auto 9-6. Midwest Autoworx, 1-2 on the season, opened the game with four runs in the top half of the first only to have WK Auto rally back with four in the top half of the third to tie the game at 4-all.
The Pilot Grove baseball team knew it would have to play one of its best games Thursday against top-seeded Sedalia Sacred Heart in the championship in the Class 1 District 9 Tournament at Prairie Home.
In Boonslick 8U softball Thursday night at Lions Park, Boonville Abstract defeated Citizen’s Community Bank 18-3. Citizen’s Community Bank led Boonville Abstract 2-0 after ½ inning but was outscored 18-1 for the rest of the game as Boonville Abstract put up three in the first and five runs in each of the second, third and fourth innings of play.
