New Franklin, Prairie Home compete in C1 D3 CC Meet

The New Franklin and Prairie Home boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams were well represented over the weekend while competing in the Class 1 District 3 Cross-Country Meet at South Callaway High School in Mokane.With only three runners competing for New Franklin, Stella Matyas wound up finishing in 33rd place out of 66 runners in a time of 25:29, which was just shy of qualifying, while Alexander McGruder led the New Franklin boys by placing 645h out of 99 runners in a time of 22.50.

Nave, Kurtti and Schenck compete in C3 D4 Cross-Country Meet

For Boonville’s Ellie Nave, Mitchell Martinez-Kurtti and Will Schneck, the Class 3 District 4 Cross-Country Meet Saturday, October 28 at Platte Ridge Park in Platte City was their final chance to compete on the big stage with hopes of moving on to the state meet.With over 114 boys and 90 girls competing in the meet, the trio gave it their best shot in the cold and rain.
