Troost’s 26 points ignites Pirates in 71-47 win over Eldon

Minutes before taking the floor Tuesday night against Eldon in the conference opener at the Windsor Gymnasium, Boonville senior Dakota Troost commented that he was about to have a good night against the Mustangs.Little did Troost know that some 2 hours later his words would come true as the senior standout scored a career-high 26 points to lead Boonville past Eldon 71-47.The win over Eldon was also good from a standpoint that it was the Tri-County Conference opener-a game the Pirates lost last year to start league play at 0-1.Boonville Pirates basketball coach Mark Anderson said the win over Eldon was their most complete game of the season.

LSE 7th girls win season finale against Hallsville, 8th grade loses by three

The LSE girls’ seventh grade basketball teams had the perfect ending to the season Monday night on the road by beating the Hallsville Lady Indians 24-18.As for the girl’s eighth grade basketball team, they fell in a close game against Hallsville 32-29.In the seventh-grade game, the Lady Pirates led Hallsville 6-4 after one, 14-9 at the half and 20-10 after three quarters of play.

LSE wrestlers Simmons and Newham capture first in Tri-County Conference Tournament

The LSE Pirates and Lady Pirates wrestling team closed out the 2023 season Tuesday night with a total of 12 medalists in the Tri-County Conference Tournament at Blair Oaks.While competing against conference schools in the season finale, LSE wrestling coach Christian Stock said the boys and girls wrapped up the season in a respectful manner.

Davis, Morris lead Lady Pirates past Mexico, 52-41

Having last played at home some 21 days ago, the Boonville Lady Pirates basketball team could not have been happier to be hosting the Mexico Bulldogs Monday night at the Windsor Gymnasium.While going 3-2 during that span with both losses against the Moberly Spartans, the Lady Pirates made sure to take advantage of the opportunity against Mexico while leading from start to finish for a 52-41 victory.Boonville girls’ basketball coach Jared Runyon said the girls were glad to be back at home.
