The Boonville Lady Pirates basketball team had several reasons for wanting to win the game Tuesday night against the New Franklin Lady Bulldogs.Aside from renewing a rivalry against the Lady Bulldogs, which was last played in 1988, Boonville also had a chance to get senior Boonville Zoe Davis her 1,000th career point in front of a standing room only crowd.As it turned out, the Lady Pirates accomplished both feats by beating a depleted New Franklin squad 73-23 while Davis picked up her 1,000th career point on a layup with less than one minute left in the third quarter.
The Boonville Pirates wrestling team finished 2-0 while the Lady Pirates sported a record of 1-1 in a triangular Tuesday night at Warsaw.While the Pirates defeated both Warsaw and Adrian 37-28 and 54-27, respectively, the Lady Pirates defeated Warsaw 24-21 while losing to Adrian 36-30.The Pirates wrestling team is currently 11-6 on the season while the Lady Pirates are currently 12-4.“Overall we wrestled very well,” said Boonville wrestling coach Justin Hahn.
On the way to beating the Jamestown Eagles Tuesday night in Pilot Grove 76-59, seniors Beau Walker and Logan Goehman also hit the 1,000-point mark in their career for the Tigers.While the Tigers led Jamestown from start to finish, head coach Dillon Yung said the boys came out on the offensive end ready to go tonight.

The BPH boys’ basketball team picked up its fourth straight win Monday night on the road by beating Community R-6 67-53.BPH, 12-6 on the season, outscored Community in three out of the four quarters of play and led 15-13 after one, 30-24 at the half and 51-35 after three quarters of play.
