The 40-plus years that it took to renew the Boonville-New Franklin game all came down to four minutes Tuesday night in New Franklin. After playing to a 49-49 tie at the end of regulation in front of a boisterous crowd, New Franklin scored just enough points in overtime to beat Boonville in a thriller 55-53.Although the Pirates came out on the short end against New Franklin, head coach Mark Anderson said this was a really good high school basketball game.Boonville fell to 12-8 on the season while New Franklin improved to 17-3 overall.“I thought both teams really played well,” Anderson said.
