If there was any concern of having a letdown after the big win last Friday against the Blair Oaks Falcons, the Boonville Pirates basketball team showed no ill effects in another big TCC game Tuesday night at home against the California Pintos. While the Pintos came into the game with almost an identical record as Boonville, head coach Mark Anderson said California had also beaten some pretty good teams along the way.Needless to say, the Pirates were also on a nice win streak having won seven of their last eight games and sporting a record of 3-0 in league play.As it turned out, Anderson had no reason to worry as Boonville led California from the first quarter on for a convincing 60-38 victory. The win improved Boonville’s record to 14-8 overall and 4-0 in the TCC while California fell to 13-8 overall and 0-3 in league play.“Coming off an emotional win over Blair Oaks last Friday, this game scared me a little bit,” Anderson said.
