Not since 2000 has the Boonville Pirates basketball team had reason to celebrate a conference championship.But that all changed Monday night on Senior Night in the regular season finale against School of the Osage.
The Boonville Lady Pirates basketball team wanted nothing more than to end the skid Tuesday night against Osage in Tri-County Conference action at the Windsor Gymnasium.Having dropped their last three games, Boonville also had a chance to beat their former coach (Jaryt Hunziker) on Senior Night.However, after taking a 12-11 lead after the opening quarter against Osage, the Lady Pirates hit a scoring drought for approximately two minutes in the second period while allowing the Lady Indians to reel off 18 unanswered points to go up 31-19.

The BPH boys’ basketball team notched its 20th win Tuesday night in the opening round of the Class 1 District 10 Tournament at Madison by turning back the host school 76-25.BPH, 20-6 overall and winners of their last 12 games, jumped out to a 50-11 halftime lead against Madison and then outscored the Panthers 26-14 in the second half for the 51-point victory.BPH coach Trever Huth said this was a good first win in the district.
