Boonville hits the ground running as spring sports begin

The saying goes that spring is not far off when athletes begin practicing for the upcoming 2024 season.That officially kicked off on Monday, February 26 for athletes who are currently not involved in the winter sports season.Although the regular season is still weeks away from starting, Boonville Pirates tennis coach Ryan Brimer said 27 student-athletes hit the courts for the first time with a few more expected to come out by the end of the week.

Daniel says the choice to play golf at CMU was easy

When it came down to choosing a school for the next four years, Boonville senior Carlie Daniel said it was an easy choice after signing to play golf at Central Methodist University in Fayette last week in front of friends and family at high school commons at Boonville High School.As a member of the Boonville Lady Pirates golf team for the last four years, Daniel said she decided on CMU because she wanted to stay close to all of the people in her life who have made a huge impact on her everyday life.
