Pirates set to play Hallsville in opening game in Eugene Quad

After surpassing the .500 mark for the season last Thursday against the Moberly Spartans in extra innings, the Boonville Pirates baseball team will now try to shake off the cobwebs after almost a week off by playing in the Eugene Baseball Quad Friday and Saturday, April 5-6.At 4-3 on the season, the Pirates will begin the Eugene Quad with a game against Hallsville on Friday, April 5-which will also be a conference game-starting at 5 p.m.

BPH co-op set to dissolve at the end of the school year

After co-oping with Bunceton for the last five years, Prairie Home has decided to return to hosting in all sports for the 2024-25 school year.In a letter to the community, Prairie Home Board of Education stated that after thorough consideration, including feedback from the community, examination of finances, and projected participation numbers, the board has decided to return to a Prairie Home hosted program in all sports.

Mizzou names Rob Summers assistant basketball coach

University of Missouri men’s basketball added a top frontcourt coach to its staff on Tuesday as Whitten Family Men’s Basketball Head Coach Dennis Gates announced the addition of Rob Summers as an assistant coach to the Tigers program.A 7-foot graduate of West Virginia who played two seasons under John Beilein after starting his career at Penn State, Summers will work directly with the Tigers’ post players at Mizzou.“As somebody who specializes in post development, Rob is the perfect piece to round out our coaching staff,” Gates said.
