Pitts strikes out 12 batters in 5-2 win over Jamestown

BPH junior Jackson Pitts struck out 12 batters in seven innings, and the Panthers/Dragons baseball team scored a total of five runs in three runs to beat the Jamestown Eagles 5-2 Monday night in Jamestown.BPH, improving to 5-4 on the season, broke a 0-0 tie after two with one run in the top half of the third and then sent three runs across in the fourth to extend the lead to 4-0.

New Franklin boys 4 x 800-meter relay team finishes 1st in Salisbury MS Relays

The New Franklin Middle School boys’ 4 x 800-meter relay team of Haden Davis, Quincy Dorson, Ryder Hopkins and Noah Hackman finished first in the Salisbury Relays on Tuesday in a time of 10:07.81.Dorson also finished second in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:23.35.Placing third for New Franklin were the girls 4 x 800-meter relay team of Eden Oser, Addison Forbis, Belle Chitwood and Korinna Chitwood in a time of 12:0841 and the boys 4 x 400-meter relay team of Haden Davis, Mason McGruder, Quincy Dorson and Ryder Dorson in a time of 4:28.83.

New Franklin topples Slater, Sturgeon in doubleheader

The New Franklin Bulldogs baseball team picked up two wins by the same identical scores of 10-1 by beating the Slater Wildcats and Sturgeon Bulldogs in a doubleheader Tuesday night at New Franklin.In the first game against Slater, New Franklin broke a 1-1 tie after one by pushing across two runs in the third, six again in the fourth and one in the fifth for the win.New Franklin coach Erich Gerding said the team did a good job in this game of finding ways to score runs one at a time.
