New Franklin blanks Madison 26-0 in 3 innings

The New Franklin baseball team exploded for 18 runs in the first inning and never looked back, beating the Madison Panthers 26-0 in three innings Tuesday night at Madison.New Franklin, improving to 13-6 on the season, scored in every inning against Madison and plated 18 runs in the first, three again in the second and five in the third to win by the mercy rule.New Franklin coach Erich Gerding said the team got off to a great start, took care of business, and glad to see of the younger guys get some playing time.

Tigers fall on the road against Community, 8-0

The Pilot Grove baseball team ran into a buzzsaw Tuesday night on the road while dropping an 8-0 decision against the Community R-6 Trojans.The Tigers, 9-8 on the season, came out and gave up five runs in the first-two innings against Community and then surrendered two in the fifth and one again in the sixth to suffer the loss.Pilot Grove coach Isaac Lorenz said some early defensive errors dampened the fire a little and helped Community get an early lead.
