COCOBA announces 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12-year-old All-Stars
With the state and regional tournaments just around the corner in Cal Ripken, the Cooper County Baseball Association wasted little time selecting all-stars for the 2024 season.While finishing up with the all-star teams last Wednesday, Cal Ripken President Mike Watts announced the rosters in 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12-year-olds for upcoming tournaments.In the 8-year-old age group, Evan Oswald was named the manager while Nate Breland, Jordan Williams and Brad Wooldridge were selected coaches.Players named to the 8-year-old All-Star Team for Boonville are Camden Allinson, Codey Bishop, Raven Breland, Beau Cater, Leland Davidson, Mason Fisher, Keaton Green, Carson Hart, Jayce Lorenz, Carter Oswald, Brock Shadwick, Rowan Townlain, Boone Williams, Cooper Wooldridge and Kobe Oswald, bat boy.The Boonville 8 All-Stars will play in the Regional Tournament on August 1-4 in Boonville.
GKC CPAs, Exchange Bank pick up wins in season finale in NF LL Softball
GKC CPAs and Exchange Bank picked up wins in New Franklin Little League Softball Thursday night in New Franklin.While GKC CPAs defeated Shelter Insurance in the first game by a single run 11-10 in player pitch, Exchange Bank came back in the second game to beat GKC CPA 15-8 in machine pitch.In Game 1, GKC CPAs trailed Shelter Insurance 4-3 after one and 5-3 after 1 ½ before rallying back with two runs in the bottom half of the second to tie the game at 5-all.
Boonville 9, 11 All-Stars to begin state tournament play on Friday, July 5
Brackets for the 9 and 11-year-old State Tournaments have been released for the 2024 season.In the 9-year-old age group, the Boonville All-Stars will compete against Mineral Area American and Mineral Area National in Scott City on July 5-6Tournament action will begin on Friday, July 5, with Mineral Area Nationals playing Mineral Area American at 3 p.m., followed by Mineral Area American versus Boonville at 5 p.m.

KWRT rallies past New Franklin in JBR, 8-5
KWRT proved Tuesday night in Junior Babe Ruth against New Franklin that it doesn’t matter who scores first but what the score is at the end of the game.KWRT turned out to be that team while leading from the fourth inning on for an 8-5 victory.In the first game, Salisbury led Fayette from start to finish for a 13-1 win in five innings.Of course, little changed after Tuesday’s games with Arvidson still holding a slim lead over KWRT 9-2 versus 9-3.
Wilmsmeyer Farms doubles up Exchange Bank in NF LL Baseball
In the season finale Tuesday night in New Franklin Little League Baseball, Wilmsmeyer Farms defeated Exchange Bank in a doubleheader 12-9 and 9-6.In the first game, Exchange Bank led Wilmsmeyer Farms 2-1 after one, 7-5 after three and 8-5 after four.
