With the 2024 fall season just around the corner, Boonville Athletic Director Chris Shikles announced starting times for the first day of practice on Monday, August 12.Softball will begin practice for the fall season from 7-10 a.m.
The final tournament of the 2024 season will be a first for Boonville as the Boonville 8-year-old All-Stars take the field in the Cal Ripken 8-year-old Machine Pitch Regional Tournament at both the COCOBA Ball Field and Rolling Hills Park.With six teams competing in the tournament, Boonville Cal Ripken President Mike Watts said this year’s 8U Tournament will be held on August 2-3 with a total of 15 games.Along with the Boonville 8 All-Stars, teams competing in the tournament are SE Denver, Colorado, Glasgow (Mo.

Free sports physicals for all middle school and high school students will be held for one day on Friday, August 2 from 3-5 p.m.
The Heart of America Athletic Conference football coaches selected their 2024 Heart North and South Preseason Coaches’ Polls this week, as Grand View and Benedictine were picked to top the Heart North and South Divisions respectively.The Benedictine Ravens are on top of the Heart South Coaches’ Preseason Poll, the Ravens tied with Baker and MidAmerica Nazarene last year for the Heart regular season conference championship, as each team went 4-1 in Heart play.Baker advanced to the NAIA-FCS and earned a playoff win over Louisiana Christian, before falling to Georgetown (Ky.) in the second round.This also marks the first year William Woods University joins the Heart in the sport of football.
