Lady Pirates finish 4-2 in Centralia Jamboree

The Boonville Lady Pirates volleyball team got its first real taste of competition Tuesday night while competing in a four-team Jamboree at Centralia High School.Boonville volleyball coach Joedi Herzog said the team finished 4-2 in the Jamboree, beating Centralia 15-13 and 15-7 and North Callaway 15-12 and 15-13 and losing to Father Tolton 11-15 and 14-15.Although the real season will begin Saturday in the Father Tolton Invitational in Columbia, Herzog said she was most impressed with the team’s passing in all three games.

Lady Pirates look to improve on the court every game in 2024

As the Boonville Lady Pirates volleyball team prepares for the 2024 season, first-year coach Joedi Herzog wants the team to be a smart team moving forward.While finishing 12-17-1 overall and 2-4 in the Tri-County Conference in 2023, the Lady Pirates are ready to turn the page on last season and hopefully bring home the school’s first conference title since joining the TCC.“I hope the girls will be able to read the court and find holes this season,” Herzog said.

Lady Pirates look to bring back winning attitude in 2024

Boonville Lady Pirates tennis coach Melissa Harvey is already liking what she has seen thus far of the team for the 2024 season.While struggling last year at 2-11 overall, Harvey was quick to turn the page knowing that five starters would be returning for the upcoming season.But better yet, Harvey got another surprise when 17 girls reported for practice on Monday, August 12.

Cooper, Wirths to lead Lady Pirate golfers in 2024

After finishing 6-3 overall and 6-2-1 in the Tri-County Conference in 2023, the Boonville Lady Pirates golf team may have to make an adjustment as for the outlook for the upcoming fall season.While losing several seniors to graduation in the spring, Boonville golf coach Rob VanderLinden will return only two starters this season to go along with the two underclassmen.“Honestly this is one of the few seasons that I have no idea how the season is going to go,” VanderLinden said.

Adair looks for more consistency from Pirates in 2024

The Boonville Pirates soccer team hope to flip the switch from the 2023 season to the 2024 season under head coach Alec Adair this fall.After finishing 3-17-1 in the fall last year, Adair hopes that having a year under their belt with the underclassmen will pay big dividends for Boonville in 2024.With 20 players suited out for the upcoming season, three of which are returning starters and five returning letterwinners, Adair said the Pirates will have a lot of youth coming into their program this year, which is something new.

Boonville cross-country team will return three starters for 2024 season

It’s no secret what the goals are for the Boonville boy’s and girl’s cross-country team this fall.With seven runners out for the team for the 2024 season, Boonville cross-country coach Melissa Baker said the goals this season are to improve their times every time they compete.Although cross-country is a sport where you go out and run 3-4 miles every day, Baker said along with improving their times they will also work on improving as individual runners.
