Ten vie for Cooper County Fair Prince and Princess

The Cooper County Fair will crown the 2025 Fair Prince and Princess on Tuesday, July 22. This year there are ten boys and girls who are competing for the title of Cooper County Fair Prince and Princess 2025. Running this year are Chase Brandes, Rownan Connell, Hunter Cordray, Oliver Friedrich, Bexleigh James, Lena Leonard, Kaitlynn Malan, Esmay Price, Willow Robinson, and Stetson Twenter.

Public information meeting scheduled for Improve I-70 project from Boonville to Rocheport

JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will host a public information meeting regarding the Improve I-70: Boonville to Rocheport project from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday, July 21, in Boonville. This project is slated to be the fifth construction project in MoDOT’s Statewide Improve I-70 Program and will make improvements and add a third lane of travel in each direction to Interstate 70 in the 13-mile section between Missouri Route 5 in Boonville and the Lance Corporal Leon Deraps I-70 Missouri River (Rocheport) Bridge.

Friends of Historic Boonville presents A Red, White, and Blue Concert

Directed by Steve Litwiller, The Thespian Hall Conservatory Band played to a near full house at its Red, White and Blue Concert Thursday evening, July 3. Opening with the National Anthem, they honored America’s Birthday with an hour’s worth of patriotic music which included Bugler’s Holiday, the William Tell Overture, and the Stars and Stripes Forever. Van Nixon served as Master of Ceremonies as he announced the music and gave the history behind it. During the Armed Forces Salute, the house lights were brought up and allowed veterans and members of the armed forces to stand and be recognized for their service.
