It is Homecoming week at Bunceton High School! The theme this year was Candyland. Colors were assigned to each grade and staff for wearing on Tuesday. Winners for color day were Branch Benny, Gemma Marciniak, Emma Knipp, Addison Ray, Carlie Nelson, and Brittini Brown. But the school was really wacky on Wednesday. Almost everyone got in the spirit and enjoyed the chance to be wild. The wackiest were Ashlyn Root, Emma Leonard, Taylor Kraft, Levi Ray, Jessica Wolpers, and Carla Jobe. Thursday was everyone’s favorite dress up day (wearing pajamas) or the high school students could dress up in pairs as rhyming partners. Winners that day were Waylon Tuttle, Summer Johnson, Kynna Knapheide, Cheyanne Davis, Tammy Ray, and Jessica Huth. Friday, of course, was BLACK and GOLD day. Addison Hayward, Averi Zimmerman, Daisie Huth, Preston Todd, Coach Braby, and Ms. Petree were chosen the winners. Overall winners for the week were Lex Triebsch, Aubrey Thompson, and Chelsea Rambo. Winners of the spirit posters were also announced at the school assembly Friday afternoon. This year the elementary did their own posters and voted for first place was the 1st grade, 4th grade received second place, and third place went to the 6th grade. The poster competition in the middle and high school was very close in votes with some separated by only a couple of votes. The Junior class won 1st, Seniors won 2nd, 8th grade won 3rd, Sophomores won 4th, Freshmen won 5th, and 7th grade won 6th. Chelsea Rambo was selected as Teacher of the Year and Christal Jones was named Staff Member of the Year.
