The Association of Cooper County Republicans (ACCR) is proud to announce that they will be offering four - $500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are Cooper County residents or who attend a Cooper County school. The scholarships are for high school seniors, interested in to continuing their, training, learning or formal education and who have demonstrated scholarship, citizenship, and leadership to a high degree. The scholarships shall be administered through the scholarship committee of the ACCR.

Newly infected COVID-19 patients have two new treatment options that can be taken at home. But that convenience comes with a catch: The pills have to be taken as soon as possible once symptoms appear.

The Boonville City Council held its final meeting for 2021 Monday night in its chambers. Although the meeting was short compared to previous meetings, the council still weighed in on a number of items.

On Tuesday, December 21 at approximately 12:39 a.m., a deputy with the Cooper County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle southbound on Hwy 87 near Prairie Home for a traffic violation. The vehicle refused to stop, and a pursuit ensued, with speeds varying from 45 MPH to 80 MPH.

Cooper County Public Health Center Director Melanie Hutton said 172 positive cases have been reported thus far as of Friday, December 17. Hutton said the county expects to exceed the November case count of 201 positive cases.

MONITEAU COUNTY – Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) maintenance crews will replace culvert pipes at multiple locations next week south of California. The work will take place Tuesday, December 21 and Wednesday, December 22.
