SANTA CLAUS VISITS BOONVILLE

Harley Wassmann, age 6, Emerson Wassmann, age 7, visit Santa Claus at the Katy Depot on Saturday to give him their list. The Boonville Chamber of Commerce sponsored the event for the last three weekends for kids to come in and visit Santa. Harley and Emerson are the daughters of Dale and Ashley Wassmann of Boonville. Library raises funds for relocation to the Kemper campus

Boonville, MO – After more than a decade of efforts to provide a larger home for the Cooper County Branch of the Boonslick Regional Library (BRL), plans are moving forward to relocate the library to the Kemper Campus in Boonville. The library will be housed in the Library Learning Center (LLC), a threestory brick structure built in 1906 at the main entrance of the campus. The BRL Board and the City of Boonville have agreed to exchange properties in order to make the relocation possible.

School Spelling Bee As Bunceton finished with finals on Wednesday, the whole school faced off in each class category with a spelling bee on Thursday, December 16th. The classes competed against each in groups.

House fire ruled a total loss after explosion

One of the oldest homes in Prairie Home was lost to fire on Monday, December 13. A little after 9:30 am, neighbors of the Haywood family on High Street heard an explosion and saw flames coming from the front of the house shortly thereafter. No one was home at the time and, in spite of rapid response, the home was a total loss. The cause of the explosion is reported to be a water heater.
