Prairie Home celebrated Homecoming on Friday night, capping off a busy week at school. Homecoming royalty was announced after the games with Bowen Force and Jordyn Alpers being crowned Prince and Princess and Tim Stewart and Aubree Hedgpeth taking over the crown as King and Queen.
Sixth grade instructor, Kim Thompson, reported on a special activity that her students and the fifth-grade class of Sandy Page are doing. “Bunceton 5th and 6th Graders are learning about gardening from a series of workshops taught by Rose Schroeder of MU Extension. On Tuesday, Jan. 11th, they placed soil into small plastic bottles and added water. After a week, they will examine their soil sample bottles. Ms. Schroeder explained that different soil types will settle at different levels so students will be able to see how much sand, silt, and clay is in their soil sample.” Mrs. Thompson went on to say, “In addition to 5th and 6th grade students, 3rd and 4th grade also are participating in the program that aims to teach young people about gardening.”
