Cooper County Fair Board Pork Steak Dinner helps kick start new project

The Cooper County Fairgrounds are a little closer to being able to start on a new project to improve the accessibility of the grounds. The annual pork steak dinner which was held at the end of January will help with that goal. In accordance with trends that have developed over the last two years, this event was held with a dine-in, carry-out, or drive-thru option. The meal was cooked and served by members of the Cooper County Fair board and the 4-H teen council.

AAA: Missouri gas price average climbs as crude oil prices and demand for fuel increase

The statewide gas price average in Missouri is $3.16 for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel, according to the AAA Missouri Weekend Gas Watch. That price is five cents more compared to this day last week and is 94 cents more per gallon compared to this day last year. Of the major metropolitan areas surveyed in Missouri, drivers in St. Louis are paying the most on average at $3.20 while drivers in St. Joseph are paying the least at $3.09 per gallon. The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.48, which is six cents more compared to this day last week and $1.00 more than the price per gallon at this same time last year, according to AAA Gas Prices.

Boonslick Technical Education Center DECA Chapter Recognized for Outstanding School-Based Enterprise

Boonville’s City Council held a work session prior to the regular city council meeting on Monday to go over the budget for 2022-23. According to Boonville City Administrator Kate Fjell, the work session was to go over the proposed budget for fire, police, animal control, sewer, water, streets and central garage.
