Ingredients: 1 tbsp vegetable oil 1 small yellow onion diced 1 green bell pepper diced 1 lb ground beef 3/4 c low sodium beef broth 1 cube beef bouillon 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp black pepper 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce 1 tbsp corn starch 4 oz shredded provolone cheese hamburger buns Instuctions: In a large skillet, heat the oil over high heat. Hannah Cole DAR honors attendees

The Hannah Cole Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution held their annual Awards Tea on Saturday, March 5th. At the annual Awards Tea, the DAR members recognize their scholarship winner and members of the community and organization for their outstanding work in the past year. This year awards were presented were: DAR Good Citizen, Hannah Cole Scholarship recipient, DAR Youth Citizenship, Bronze JROTC Medal, and Hannah Cole Community Service.

Filing opens for August General Election

Filing for the Primary Election on Tuesday August 2, 2022 is now open. Filing for county offices began on February 22 at 8 am. They may be filed for until Tuesday March 29 at 5 pm. Associate Judge, Circuit Clerk, Presiding Commissioner, County Clerk, Prosecuting Attorney, Treasurer, County Collector, and the Recorder of Deeds are all the elected positions that are up for election this year. The positions of Committeemen and Committeewomen chair are also open. The Committeemen and Committeewomen positions are a direct link between a political party and the voters in a local election district.

CCPHC releases February report with 147 cases reported

The Cooper County Public Health Center released its February report, noting that 147 cases were reported during the month with zero deaths. Although four deaths were recorded in January, increasing the total to 74 from 2020 year to January 31, Cooper County Public Health Center Director Melanie Hutton said it’s not an easy process to receive death notices and causes.
