After a well-received week away from the Capitol, the House started the week with a freshened sense of optimism. Before I get started on this week’s accomplishments, let me mention something from two weeks ago that I didn’t include in my previous report.
Marshall, Mo. (March 25, 2022)— Missouri Valley College President Dr. Bonnie Humphrey has announced that Executive Vice President and Athletic Director Tom Fifer will retire in June, after 31 years at Missouri Valley.
After over two decades in education, and 15 of those spent as principal at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School, Alan Lammers has decided to retire. Lammers has been in education for 24 years.
The First Annual Prairie Home High School Alumni vs. Staff Basketball game will be held on March 25 at 6:30 pm in the school gym. There will be a $1 entry fee and concessions will be available. All proceeds go to the Prairie Home Booster Club.
On March 19th, the Cooper County Fire Protection District #5 opened their doors of the fire station for an open house. It was an opportunity for the public to look over the fire station and its equipment.
The Cooper County Historical Society will meet at the Blackwater Depot on Sunday, April 10 at 2 pm to hear a fascinating program by Mark Danner about the history of Blackwater. All are welcome to come and hear the history of this wonderful historic town.
The Boonslick Softball League will be hosting a free softball clinic, hosted by Coach Jason Mathis and Boonville Pirates High School Coach Christie Zoeller and players, on Sunday, March 27 at the Boonville High School Football Field from 1-3 p.m.
COLUMBIA, Mo. (March 24, 2022) ― The Missouri Cancer Registry and Research Center is one of seven state registries to be added to the prestigious National Cancer Institute (NCI) Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Program. NCI is part of the National Institutes of Health. The contract will enhance Missouri’s infrastructure for cancer surveillance, treatment and research.
