During the morning hours of March 24, the East Central Drug Task Force, Cooper County Sheriff’s Office, Howard County Sheriff’s Office, Boonville Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol executed five narcotic search warrants in Cooper County and Howard County as a result of several narcotic investigations.
Missouri Senator Roy Blunt made a brief stop at Taylor’s Bake Shop in Boonville on Saturday to talk about the war in Ukraine, high inflation, energy and the latest Supreme Court nominee. While speaking to local dignitaries as well as citizens of Cooper County, Blunt said the confirmation of Ketanji Brown Jackson wouldn’t change the balance of power on the court. Blunt also made stops at Versailles and Tipton to discuss broadband. As a member of the Senate Commerce and Appropriations Committees, one of Blunt’s top priorities has been expanding access to broadband. The Missouri Senator also discussed agriculture. The son of dairy farmers, Blunt has worked to ensure Missouri farmers and ranchers have the tools they need to feed and fuel the world. For the past 12 years, the Boonville Rotary Club has been stumping the community to raise funds for their organization with their annual trivia night. The club was unable to host the event in 2020 and 2021 due to concerns about the pandemic and holding a large-scale event, but the event was back in full force in 2022.
On the upcoming April 5 ballot, voters will have the opportunity to elect members to the Boonville School Board. There are three spots on the school board that are up for election.
The Municipal Election on Tuesday April 5 will see city council seats up for election. In Ward 4, the seat is contested.
