First Baptist Church Easter Egg Hunt

Pastor Christopher Greenhagen, First Baptist Church of Boonville, welcomes more than 75 children and parents to community-wide Easter Egg hunt at Rolling Hills Park on Saturday, April 9. The field was sectioned off by grades and one egg in each section had a WINNER paper in it. The winners of the give-away baskets were: Aiden Potter, preschool; Keaton Green and Alex Derrick, 1st graders; Bailey Briggs and Lucus Stewart, 2nd and 3rd graders; and Vincent Beretta, 5th grader. Give blood during National Minority Health Month

COLUMBIA, Mo. – April is National Minority Health Month — a time to raise awareness about health disparities that disproportionately affect racial and ethnic minority populations. The American Red Cross is reminding blood and platelet donors it’s critically important to maintain a stable blood supply this spring to support those with chronic illnesses and other blood needs in the U.S.

3 churches in Ukraine contemplate faith, hope and charity

BORODYANKA, Ukraine (AP) — It’s almost Easter in Ukraine, where a trio of churches on the far edges of the capital considered faith, hope and charity on Sunday. In Bucha, shocked into silence by atrocities that left bodies in the streets, about two dozen of the faithful gathered for the service while the exhumation of bodies continued from a mass grave in the churchyard.

New community calendar keeps track of local events

One question that the Visitor’s Center and the Chamber of Commerce office hear over and over, is “what’s happening in town?” or “where can we go to find out when events are going on?” To help with these phone calls and to centralize the answer, a joint project between the City of Boonville, the Boonslick Area Chamber of Commerce, Cooper County Public Health, Cooper County Emergency Management, and the Boonslick Community Development Corporation was undertaken. The result was the Boonville and Cooper County Area Community Calendar.
