Roosevelt was sworn in on Saturday, March 4, 1933, and promised, “I am prepared under my constitutional duty to recommend the measures that a stricken nation in the midst of a stricken world may require.” He then set the pace by which every future president would be measured: “the first hundred days.”
Landon Zachary Belstle, a graduating senior at New Franklin R-I High School, has won a $2,000 MFA Foundation scholarship. The scholarship was awarded at the school’s Awards Assembly.

A character dinner theatre will be held at 6 p.m. April 23 and 30. Performances will take place in the Stauffacher Theatre on the Sedalia campus.
The Boonville High School Chamber Choir students are getting ready to embark on an opportunity of a lifetime. In the fall of 2021, they received an invitation to join multiple other choirs on the stage at Carnegie Hall, in New York City.
Anne Pfeiffer was honored with a Frank Graham 4-H Volunteer Leadership Award by the 4-H Center for Youth Development in March. Pfeiffer was one of 60 volunteers recognized statewide for commitment and leadership to the University of Missouri Extension 4-H Youth Development program.

State fish and wildlife agencies have collectively identified over 12,000 species of mammals, birds, fish and insects, many of which you have likely never heard of, as in need of proactive conservation measures. If passed, Recovering America’s Wildlife Act (RAWA) will provide funding necessary for such efforts.
